Different surface types of wedding ring

Don't underestimate the importance of choosing a wedding ring! It is, after all, a symbol of your shared love that you should wear proudly for a lifetime. To ensure that your ring will be there for you every day, make sure you choose carefully. As well as the colour of the gold, don't forget to look at the surface types available on wedding rings. They can really spice things up and make your dream piece of love jewellery a real original! And do you know which types of finishes you can choose from? We'll tell you in this guide.

How do I choose a wedding ring?

If you're engaged, you've already chosen your other half. So you probably have some wedding planning to do. Sooner or later, one of the next steps will be to choose a wedding ring. How to find your perfect match?

The design

First of all, it's a good idea to think about the design, which should reflect your personal style. Do you prefer simple, clean lines and want to go for timeless, minimalist wedding rings? Or would an embellished diamond wedding band look better on your ring finger? It's up to you!

The material

To make sure your jewellery fits you perfectly, don't forget about the material. The most popular is gold, which can take many forms. From traditional yellow gold, through trendy rose gold, to elegant white gold – which can also be rhodium-free, for white gold wedding rings with warm silver tones.

If you are not into tradition and would like to exchange truly original jewellery during your wedding ceremony, you will also find black wedding rings in our range. Don't be fooled by the name, these rings are not made of black gold, as this does not exist in nature. To achieve the desired shade of anthracite to black, the gold rings undergo a surface treatment in which they are rhodium plated. As well as gold, you can also choose platinum, which is becoming increasingly popular with newlyweds thanks to its timeless beauty, preciousness and hypoallergenic properties.

MIALIS TIP: You can choose any colour of gold you like without having to pay an extra charge. So take this opportunity to make your wedding jewellery exactly the way you want it!

Profile of the rings

Wedding rings should be comfortable so that you can wear them every day. How can you choose the most comfortable ring for you? Choosing the profile of the ring will help. There are round, flat, D-shaped and other types of rings. Read our article to find out which is best for you.

These are the essentials that most of you know! But what about rings with a special surface?

Types of ring surface treatments

In addition to all the variables mentioned above, you can make your ring even more special by choosing a surface. Let's take a look at the most popular ones!

Matte or shiny wedding rings

This surface probably doesn't need much of an introduction. Classic wedding rings usually have a shiny surface. All jewellery is polished by hand using special tools with a cloth disc and polishing paste without chemicals – after all, it's your (and our) skin. As a result, the jewellery shines from afar and looks very luxurious.

But for couples who want a classic in a more modern coat, we have the option of a matte surface. These two options can be applied to almost any style. So if you see a ring that you would like to have personalised in either a shiny or matte surface, get in touch and we will be happy to create an exclusive piece of custom jewellery for you.

Engraved, scratched, faceted or hammered wedding rings

Unique wedding rings are our and your heart's desire! All these pieces are handmade. The faceted, hammered and scratched surfaces, as well as the engravings, are all made by hand. Many people fall in love with these wedding rings because of the precise craftsmanship. Depending on the type of tool and method used, unique designs are created. As a result, each ring is an original and may differ slightly from the model shown in the photographs or in the showroom. But that's the beauty of it, because there's no two pieces exactly the same!

MIALIS TIP: The hammered wedding rings, especially the models GOLI, ETAIN and BOMM, are among the most popular in our range. They are minimalist, but at the same time completely different from all the others. Among the hammered rings, we would like to mention the beautiful rings BRITTON and BERGEN. The brushed surface also has its charms. See for yourself on the KAWI, for example, fresh and timeless! But you may also fall for the "messy beauty" of the scratched surface, for example the golden wedding rings LUGO. The advantage of this surface is that it hides imperfections and even signs of time.

Gold tree bark wedding rings

If you're planning a forest wedding or just share a love of nature, these unconventional wedding rings will win your heart. Their surface resembles tree bark or even twigs. Our jewellery designers use a special technique to achieve the desired design. It's called the lost wax method, where an alloy is poured into a mould made of durable wax, resulting in an exact duplicate of the ring you've chosen in the photo or in the showroom.

MIALIS TIP: Unconventional wedding rings with nature motives are very popular! The top 5 rings are the rings SIENA, where the women's wedding ring has an interesting shape to which the engagement ring fits perfectly. There is also the MIANA and NATURA pair with an irregularly shaped band, the simple wedding rings BRANCH and the couple of twig rings DRIS. The possibilities are endless, and nature lovers are sure to find something they like in this collection of original jewellery.

Moon surface wedding rings

For all those couples who are fascinated by space, love Star Wars, or are just in love with the sci-fi genre in general, we have unusual moon surface wedding rings.

So if you're looking for a "moon surface ring" for your big day, we at Mialis are ready to make even unearthly wishes come true.

MIALIS TIP: Believe us, you won't see these unusual wedding rings on just anyone else. Whether you choose a wedding ring LUNE, MUSK, LUNARIUM or MOONWALK, they will make you stand out from the crowd and symbolise your shared love for each other and your hobbies.

Organic wedding rings

Different, unusual and very original! Organic wedding rings have a surface that can remind you of all sorts of natural textures. Take a good look around and you may find some similarities to nature. Gold jewellery is made using the lost wax method mentioned above, so one ring is like the other.

MIALIS TIP: Future bride and groom, aren't you afraid to stand out from the crowd and love nature at the same time? Don't miss out on alternative wedding rings on your journey through life together! How about the rustical STRETTA or ARETTA? Or the trendy wedding bands ANJA? And we should not forget to mention the popular pair of rings PERFORA.

Custom wedding rings made to match your vision

Don't forget to choose jewellery with your heart – after all, it's a symbol of your love and should last forever. So be demanding and don't compromise. Here you will only find high quality jewellery, meticulously crafted and made from the finest materials.

Because we have our own jewellery studio and all our jewellery collections are handmade, you can combine them. So if you choose a ring that doesn't have the surface you're looking for, or if something is missing, get in touch and we can work it out together. We want to create jewellery that you will enjoy for a lifetime.

MIALIS TIP: These rings for couples are very individual, you can turn them into personalised jewellery – the inside can be engraved with your initials, wedding date, a text or symbol of your choice.
